Beaverton, OR, November 17, 2025 – Audio Precision is excited to announce the widely anticipated Bluetooth® 5 testing module to its portfolio of industry-leading audio analysis solutions. Following the introduction of the original Bluetooth module and its subsequent iterations, this latest solution from Audio Precision is the most complete and capable Bluetooth 5 testing solution available anywhere, continuing the APx platform’s history of leading the way in test and measurement of audio devices.

Audio Precision’s new Bluetooth 5 module supports many of the new technologies introduced in BT5, allowing engineers to thoroughly test Bluetooth 5 LE audio devices. Key features include support for:
- The LC3 audio CODEC (Compression/DECompression)
- Unicast Music and Voice
- Auracast™
The Bluetooth 5 APx Module will be available with new APx516, APx517, APx52x, APx58x, and APx555 analyzers. It will also be available as an upgrade to existing B-Series analyzers, either installed at our factory in Beaverton or as a kit for AP-approved service partners. Upgrade paths will include a complementary 1-year software subscription to facilitate the required use of APx500 version 9 by customers who may not have an up-to-date software license.
Bluetooth 5 notably breaks compatibility with previous versions of Bluetooth. For customers who wish to test both Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth 5 audio devices, both the Bluetooth 5 and Bluetooth Duo modules can potentially be installed in the same chassis for customers who need to test both standards.
From design engineering to production, this new module is likely to be necessary for anyone working on the latest generation of headphones and headsets, hearing aids, speakers, automotive head units, and other audio devices implementing the Bluetooth 5 standard.
