Question:
Is there a way to configure the default settings for a new test in the AP2700, APWin, or ATS control software?

Answer:
Yes, there are three different ways.

Test (Custom) [AP2700 only]:

  1. Open a new test file.
  2. Change the panel settings and positions as desired. Any changes you make in the test will be retained.
  3. Select File > Save As > Test (Custom).
  4. Now, when you wish to open a new test starting with these customized settings, select File > New > Test (Custom) from the menus or the New Test (Custom) icon on the tool bar (second from the left).
  5. In an AP Basic macro, you can use the command “AP.Application.NewTestCustom”.

Quick Launch [AP2700, APWin, ATS]:

  1. Open a new test file.
  2. Change the panel settings and positions as desired. Any changes you make in the test will be retained.
  3. Select File > Save, name the file, and save it to a directory.
  4. Select File > Quick Launch > Customize Quick Launch… to open the Configure Quick Launch window.
  5. There can be a maximum of eight Quick Launch icons. Choose one that is unused (<none>), or an existing one that you don’t need. In the Command field, navigate to the test file you saved in Step 3. Here you can also customize the name and icon. Save the Quick Launch entry.
  6. Now, when you wish to open a new test starting with these customized settings, select File > Quick Launch > [name you gave the file in Step 5] from the menus, or click on the corresponding icon in the Quick Launch toolbar.

User Preferences Add-in [AP2700, ATS]:
